We have now started calling people who are eligible for the first batch of Covid-19 vaccinations. If you have received a call and need more information, please see here for FAQs and an information leaflet.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the address of the vaccine clinic?
The Hampshire Court Hotel, Centre Drive, Chineham, Basingstoke RG24 8FY. It is located very close to the big Tesco in Chineham. If you are on the roundabout where Tesco is, take the exit after Tesco on the roundabout and then take the next left past the Tesco car park which you will see on your left.
How do I get to the vaccine clinic?
There are 190 parking spaces at the hotel if you are able to travel by car. If you are travelling by bus, routes 7, 14 and 55 will drop you just outside the hotel car park.
Why is it not at my normal practice?
All of the local practices have decided to work together to provide this additional vaccination programme. Working at scale is allowing us to maintain ‘business as usual’ as much as possible at each of the GP surgeries. Given the logistics of this particular vaccine’s storage and delivery, it is not possible for each individual practice to provide this service on their own.
I cannot get there due to mobility/other reasons, when will I be vaccinated?
We will be back in touch with you when we know that we can vaccinate outside of the main hotel hub and care homes.
Will you let my Practice know when I’ve had the vaccine?
Yes, we are using an IT solution that will send a notification through to your GP surgery to let them know that you have received the vaccine.
Who will be giving me my vaccine?
We will have a combination of GPs, Nurses, HCAs and other trained vaccinators giving the vaccine. You might recognise some of them as they will be from local practices. All staff will have completed the required training and have their competencies signed off before vaccinating anyone.
What are the side effects?
Studies are showing low incidences of the following side effects: injection site pain, fever, chills, fatigue, headaches and muscle aches. These are all commonly reported side effects of most vaccines.
I am concerned about how quickly this vaccine has been made: can you provide assurances around this?
Despite the speed at which this vaccine has been produced, it has still gone through all of the regulatory processes that any other vaccine would before being approved for use.
